18th Thoughts for Food is Saturday, March 6

The 18th annual “Thoughts for Food multi-venue concert benefitting the Racine County Food Bank will take place on Saturday, March 6.

In the past 17 years Thoughts for Food has raised over $300,000 and 70,000 pounds of food to help the Food Bank assist pantries, shelters and meal programs throughout Racine County. This year the need is greater than ever.

The event begins on Friday, March 5, at 5 p.m. with an all-ages show at the YMCA featuring eight youth bands.

Saturday’s main event takes place in the River North neighborhood and includes nine venues with 10 stages: Chartroom Charlies, John’s Dock, The Eagles Club, Redline Tavern, George’s Tavern, Coasters Pub, Michigan’s Pub, The Racine Yacht Club and The Rhino Bar. Over 40 acts will perform. A complete schedule is here.

In recognition of the difficult economic times, Thoughts for Food will continue its $10 admission price, along with two non-perishable food items, to encourage greater attendance. Limited quantities of advance tickets are now available at the venues. Admission includes a wristband that grants entrance to all 10 stages with over 40 groups.

The Racine County Food Bank is a United Way Partner Provider that provides free food to hunger-fighting agencies across Racine County who, in turn, provide an average of over 60,000 meals to our neighbors in need each month.
