Final First Fridays of 2008 is Sept. 5

Friday, Sept. 5, is the final First Fridays event of 2008, with shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants open the entire evening with special offerings. There will be live music on the streets and in the stores and horse drawn carriage rides, as well as the HarborFest beer tent at Monument Square. This free event runs from 6 to -9 p.m.

Special events include:

-- A special beach volleyball exhibition will be held on Monument Square
-- Free admission into the Racine Art Museum, and its 5th Anniversary art auction and sale
-- Fired Up will host a children's painting party for kids ages 7 and up
-- Artists Gallery will host a reception for featured artist Edwin Kalke
-- Local artist Lance Raichert will do a demonstration at Monfort’s Fine Art
-- Artist Prince Parise will be painting in front of the i ov thee dragon tattoo studio on 6th Street
-- Racine Heritage Museum will unveil the final exhibit on their all-new second floor. entitled “People and Wheat.” To complement this new exhibit, there will be CNH tractors, vintage farm implements and music by Pleasant Memories in the parking lot adjacent to the Museum
-- There will be a wine tasting at Uncorkt and specials at Inside-Out

-- Jeff Ward will perform at Molly MaGruder
-- Zachary Scot Johnson will perform at Dunn Bros.
-- Identity Crisis will perform at Monument Square
-- Dairy Statesmen Barbershop Chorus will perform at Crosswalk Park on Main Street
-- Sylvia Beach will perform at Moxie Child
-- Cheryl McCrary & The Heir-Born Praise Band will perform on Sixth Street
--After Glow will provide a strolling performance
