The Hispanic Business and Professionals Association will present Fiesta Mexicana 2008 this weekend at Festival Park, featuring Latino cuisine from four local restaurants, three days of music on two stages, arts and crafts, kids' activities and fireworks.And, for the brave: a jalapeno eating contest!
The festival runs from Friday, Aug. 8, through Sunday, Aug. 10. Grounds open at 4 p.m. on Friday, and 11 a.m. on the weekend. Admission is $9 for adults; children under 12 accompanied by an adult get in free.
Kids' activities on Saturday and Sunday include Moon rides, from 1-5 p.m., and children's games and crafts; there will be a free children's corner from 12-3 both days.
