On Thursday July 31, the Racine Police Athletic Association (RPAA) will sponsor the 13th Annual “Cops-N-Kids” Fishing Trip.
Active and retired law enforcement officers, as well as civilian employees, volunteer their time to mentor area youth in a positive environment. Volunteers provide all of the fishing gear, boats, bait, and food items for the trip. Activities during this event include fishing and boating at Lake Beulah in East Troy, a cookout, and a trip to a country farm.
The RPAA is a non-profit organization founded in 1995 to foster positive relationships between law enforcement officers and area youth, through joint participation in a variety of sporting events and other youth-friendly activities.
This annual event was open to the first 100 kids ages 9-15 and is free of charge. Participants leave from the Racine Police Department, 730 Center Street, at 7:30 a.m. The event lasts until 3:30 p.m. when the group returns to The Racine Police Department.
