Mean Jake will perform at Music on the Monument on Friday, Aug. 1, in a free concert from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The band also will return to Monument Square for an encore performance on Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. during First Fridays.
Mean Jake plays music ranging from obscure southern blues to Muddy Waters and the Rolling Stones. They have played such gigs as the International BMW Bike rally in Flint, Michigan, to the Harley-Davidson Swap Meet at McCormick Place in Chicago.
Members of the band are Craig Aude on vocals and harmonica, Brian Kubowski on guitar, Greg McFarland on bass and Richie Schommer on drums. This performance of Mean Jake is sponsored by Shillings Irish Pub & Restaurant.
Music at the Monument is celebrating its sixth anniversary of free summer concerts at Monument Square. Chairs and umbrellas are provided. In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be moved indoors to the Red Onion Cafe at 555 Main Street (inside The Johnson Building).
Music on the Monument is presented by the Downtown Racine Corporation, and is funded in part by a grant from the Racine Arts Council, Racine United Arts Fund and the Wisconsin Arts Board.
