Coat donations sought for giveaway to the needy

Donations of new or clean children's coats and jackets, glove,s mittens, scarves and hats of any size are being sought by Strouf Funeral Home and Primera Iglecia Luterana for their annual coat giveaway. Adult coats of all sizes are also needed.

Last year, this drive gave away over 300 coats to very needy people. This year, organizers hope to make the event much bigger.

Donations may be dropped off now, continuing until Sept. 1 at Strouf Funeral Home and the following churches: Primera Iglecia Luterana, 898-1105; Trinity Lutheran, 632-2900; Grace Lutheran, 633-4831; Christ the King Lutheran, 639-5849; St. Joseph Catholic, 633-8284; St. Patrick Catholic, 632-8808. Distribution of the donated items will be on Sept. 13, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Strouf Funeral Home, 1001 High St. and at Primera Iglecia Luterana at Carpenter and Durand.
