From July 7-11 participants will be exploring strange and unusual artifacts connected to Racine's most influential and important historical people and places. From this exploration each camper will create their own one-of-a-kind written and bound book. Working with archivists, librarians, artists, and museum/library staff adventurers will explore the Racine Heritage Museum, the Racine Public Library, and RAM's Wustum Museum. Each day will include exploration of the book writing and making process, games, fun activities, and other great adventures.
Campers will be spending each day from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at a different venue with the following schedule:
Monday, July 7 Racine Public Library – treasure hunt and walking tour of downtown Racine.Registration and a camp fee of $95 is required. For more information or to register, call Wustum Museum at 262.636.9177 or visit www.ramart.org. Register before June 27 and receive $5 off the registration fee.
Tuesday, July 8 Racine Heritage Museum – museum and artifact exploration
Wednesday, July 9 Racine Public Library – library exploration; book writing workshop; other activities
Thursday & Friday July 10 & 11 RAM's Wustum Museum – Illustration, book binding, and "Author's Corner" readings
