Two of the 1st Congressional District's five Democratic candidates have scheduled fund-raisers / meet-the-candidate events next week.
Paulette Garin will hold hers in Racine on Wednesday, June 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Buckets, 2031 Lathrop Ave.
Garin says she has already collected 1,400 of the 2,000 signatures necessary for inclusion on the primary ballot. The filing deadline is July 8 for the Sept. 9 primary.
The other fund-raiser has been scheduled by John Mogk, the most-recently announced candidate of the five who want to run against Republican incumbent Paul Ryan. His is a wine tasting at Sommelier Wine Shop, 720 58th St., Kenosha, on Thursday, June 26, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
